About Lady Jane’s Salon:
Lady Jane’s Salon is Manhattan’s first reading series devoted to romance fiction, founded by romance authors Maya Rodale, Hope Tarr, Leanna Renee Hieber and book blogger Ron Hogan. What began as an idea hatched over drinks is now a popular, thriving reading series, currently in it’s third year.
Lady Jane’s Salon features readers ranging from debut authors to bestsellers, from paranormal to historical, and everything in between. Our crowd is mix of readers, authors, bloggers and other industry insiders. One thing we all have in common: a love of romantic fiction.
The four faces of Lady Jane:
Hope Tarr is the award-winning author of fifteen historical and contemporary romance novels. Hope’s novella, “Tomorrow’s Destiny” (in A HARLEQUIN CHRISTMAS CAROL with Betina Krahn and Jacquie D’Alessandro)received a 2011 Holt Medallion Merit Award from The Virginia Romance Writers. Hope is also a prolific nonfiction writer who has written numerous articles on women’s health and wellness, fashion and fitness, relationships, and travel. Her co-authored feature article for Baltimore Magazine, “The Top Doctors: 179 Physicians who may one day save your life,” received The Society for Professional Journalists First Place Public Service Award.
Most recently, Hope co-developed Beer Gardens NYC the first iPhone App for beer gardens in the U.S. A Top 100 App in the App Store’s Lifestyle Category, Beer Gardens NYC has received coverage in The New York Times, New York Magazine, Gothamist, TechCrunch, CrunchGear, and The Huffington Post. Appolicious named Beer Gardens NYC one of six “Best iPhone Apps for New York City.”
Hope holds a Master’s Degree in Psychology and a Ph.D. in Education, both from The Catholic University of America. Readers can find her online at HopeTarr.com, WriterNYC.com, and BeerGardensNYC.com as well as on Twitter and Facebook.
Leanna Renee Hieber. The actress, playwright and author grew up inventing ghost stories in southern Ohio. Graduating with a degree in theatre and a Victorian Era focus, Leanna got her start in publishing with hot-headed little plays still produced around the country and has adapted 19th century literature for the professional stage. Her “Strangely Beautiful” series debut, THE STRANGELY BEAUTIFUL TALE OF MISS PERCY PARKER hit Barnes & Noble’s Bestseller lists, won two 2010 Prism Awards and has been optioned for a musical theatre adaptation currently in development. Her books have been chosen for Rhapsody and Sci-Fi/Fantasy Book Clubs. Her next saga, a Victorian Paranormal Young Adult series set in 1880s New York City, begins with DARKER STILL: A NOVEL OF MAGIC MOST FOUL (11/11 from Sourcebooks Fire). A proud member of performers unions Actors Equity, Screen Actors Guild and AFTRA, Leanna may be found working film and television sets when not on book deadline. She lives in New York City, happily coupled with her real-life-hero and their beloved rescued lab rabbit.
Maya Rodale is the author of numerous “dazzingly sexy and witty” historical romance novels, including A Groom Of One’s Own and A Tale of Two Lovers in her Writing Girl Romance Series for Avon/Harper Collins.
She earned a masters degree from NYU with a focus on romance. She has also made many media appearances, most notably Good Morning America and The New York Post. She divides her time between New York City and Pennsylvania and lives with her darling dog and a rogue of her own.
Ron Hogan helped create the literary Internet by launching Beatrice.com in 1995. His most recent book is Getting Right with Tao, a print edition of his popular online “translation” of the Tao Te Ching into modern vernacular.
He is also the author of The Stewardess Is Flying the Plane, a visual tribute to ’70s Hollywood, and a contributor to several anthologies, including the New York Times bestseller Not Quite What I Was Planning, Forgotten Borough: Writers Come to Terms with Queens, and Secrets of the Lost Symbol.
Interviews from Beatrice have been republished in Conversations with Kazuo Ishiguro and Conversations with Bharati Mukherjee.
